We are at the end of the first quarter of 2018 and our state and country have done almost nothing to curb gun violence. Following the terrible and shocking tragedy of Sandy Hook way back in December 2012 when young children were slaughtered, I thought we might come to our senses and take positive steps to greatly reduce gun violence.
Here's what I wrote in 2012 after Sandy Hook, including very specific steps to curb gun violence. Still waiting.
On a more positive, note . . . the physicians at Harborview Medical Center are continuing their research and the pilot gun violence intervention program the city of Seattle funded. They have about 170 individual gunshot victims enrolled so far.
